The Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) has denied the motion for hospital arrest filed by the camp of religious leader Apollo Quiboloy.
In its ruling, the court stated: “The motion for hospital arrest filed by accused Apollo Quiboloy is hereby denied for lack of merit.”
According to RTC Branch 159, there is no valid reason to place Quiboloy under hospital arrest at either the Philippine Heart Center or The Medical City, as requested by his camp.
The court noted that Quiboloy’s medical needs are being adequately addressed while he remains in the custody of the Pasig City Jail. It added that he continues to receive proper, prompt, and sufficient medical care at the Pasig City General Hospital under the supervision of competent medical professionals.
Quiboloy’s legal team earlier requested hospital arrest, citing his breathing difficulties, intermittent fever, muscle pain, and cough while in detention.
His motion also listed several pre-existing health conditions, including hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, dyslipidemia, pulmonary tuberculosis, and recurrent pneumonia.
