Batanes PDRRMO Warns Public Ahead of China’s Rocket Launch

The Batanes Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has issued an advisory to the public regarding the possible presence of floating debris that may result from China’s rocket launch.

Authorities cautioned residents not to touch or handle any debris that may wash ashore or be found at sea.

They urged the public to immediately report any sighting of unusual objects to the proper government agencies, including the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and other local authorities.

The rocket launch is scheduled to take place between 10:22 and 11:45 p.m. tonight from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan, China.
