A couple and their 3-year-old daughter were killed on the spot after their car crashed into a truck around 5 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Molave, Talus, Malungon, Sarangani Province.
According to Municipal Councilor and rescuer Alberto Alcoser, the impact of the crash made it extremely difficult to pull the victims’ car from beneath the truck. Rescuers had to cut the vehicle open to retrieve the bodies.
The victims were identified by the man’s brother as Abdulmajid Sarapudin, a security agency officer in Davao City and former Special Action Force member; his wife, Ivy Lou Sarapudin, an agency worker in Davao; and their daughter, Coleen Sarapudin. The family lived in Purok 7, Apopong, General Santos City.
Initial accounts from a resident revealed that one of the car’s tires slipped off the pavement, causing the vehicle to spin and crash directly under the truck. The truck, which was heading toward General Santos City, sustained damage to its front section. The Sarapudin family’s car, traveling toward Davao City, was completely crushed.
Residents said the road where the accident occurred is uneven and has been the site of multiple crashes. One recent incident involved a motorcycle rider on May 29.
Authorities have yet to release further details pending investigation.
