A barangay councilor was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Silay City Component Police Station on Thursday, January 30, in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Authorities apprehended the suspect, identified only as “Ranran,” at around 12:35 p.m. in Hacienda Pipa, Barangay E. Lopez. Police recovered 70 grams of suspected shabu, valued at ₱476,000 based on the Standard Drug Price.
Ranran, a resident of Barangay Patag, has been classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade. He is now detained at the Silay City Police Station, and formal charges are being prepared against him.
