Central Philippines State University (CPSU) brought its innovation initiatives to the international stage as it joined the 2026 WURI Global Conference in Germany from September 23 to 25.
The conference was held at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, where CPSU was represented by Dr. Joe-an Mae G. Escober, director of the university’s International Affairs and Linkages Office.
Escober presented CPSU’s programs, initiatives, and practices focused on innovation and internationalization in higher education.
CPSU was also recognized during the conference after placing 74th worldwide in the latest World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
The university said the ranking reflects the work of its faculty, staff, students, and partners in developing initiatives that address community needs while gaining recognition beyond the country.
Another highlight was the signing of a commitment among WURI mentors to promote greater collaboration and knowledge-sharing among higher education institutions around the world.
Escober was also recognized by the WURI chairman as the youngest WURI mentor. She was appointed to the position by the WURI Foundation Board of Directors on January 30, 2026.
For CPSU, the conference provided an opportunity not only to showcase its work but also to connect with universities and educators working on innovation in higher education across different countries.
The university said the recognition further encourages its community to continue developing programs that create an impact in Negros Island and beyond.*
