Almost 24,000 people have been affected by the combined effects of the southwest monsoon (Habagat) and Tropical Depression Crising, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Friday, July 18.
According to the agency, 7,501 families or 23,918 individuals were impacted in 56 barangays across three regions. Flooding was reported in 26 areas, mostly in Regions VII and XII.
A total of 643 individuals were displaced by the weather disturbance, with 117 of them currently staying in evacuation centers.
No fatalities have been reported as of this writing. However, three landslide incidents are being verified by local authorities.
The NDRRMC is closely monitoring the situation as rainfall continues across various areas due to the intensified Habagat rains influenced by Crising.
Local disaster response teams remain on standby, particularly in low-lying communities and landslide-prone zones.
