Alex Eala remains positive despite her 4-6, 0-6 loss to Belinda Bencic

Alex Eala’s impressive run at the WTA 1000 National Bank Open came to an end in the Round of 16 at Sobeys Stadium on August 9.

Eala was defeated by former Olympic champion Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, 4-6, 0-6, ending her winning streak in the tournament.

Despite the loss, Eala said she had no regrets about her performance and remained pleased with what she accomplished throughout the week.

The Filipino crowd continued to show strong support during the match, with Bencic also expressing her appreciation for the warm reception from the fans.

Although the match proved challenging, Eala described her campaign in the tournament as a positive and successful experience, highlighting the progress she made by reaching the Round of 16 of a WTA 1000 event.
