About 110 Filipinos in Thailand evacuated amid rising tensions with Cambodia

Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Millicent Cruz Paredes confirmed that at least 110 Filipinos living in Thailand’s border provinces have been evacuated following tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.

In an interview, Paredes noted that around 40,000 Filipinos currently reside in Thailand, most of whom are English teachers.

Meanwhile, about 500,000 people in both countries have been affected since the conflict began.

It is also noted that Thailand is currently hosting the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

In relation to this, Cambodia has withdrawn from the regional sporting event.
