All 44 kindergarten pupils were safely evacuated after a teacher was fatally shot inside a school in Chonburi province, Thailand.
The incident happened Wednesday morning at Nong Pla Lai Municipal Kindergarten in Bang Lamung district.
Authorities said the victim was a 48-year-old teacher, and the suspected gunman was believed to be her husband, who was reportedly a police officer.
The shooting happened outside a classroom, so none of the children directly witnessed the attack.
Three other teachers and three school staff members were also safely evacuated, while parents were contacted to take the children home.
The suspect reportedly fled the school and returned to his residence, where police later surrounded the area and negotiated for his surrender.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Authorities have temporarily closed the kindergarten and arranged psychological support for students and school personnel affected by the incident.
The shooting has also renewed concerns over gun violence and school safety in Thailand.
