INC rally pushes through with permit as up to 100,000 expected in Quezon City

The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) is proceeding with its planned rally on Wednesday after the Quezon City government approved the group’s permit for the gathering.

Authorities estimate that about 100,000 people may attend the event, which will be held along White Plains Avenue to Temple Drive in Quezon City.

According to the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), the permit allows the peaceful assembly to take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., subject to several conditions.

The agency said participants must remain within the designated venue covering White Plains Avenue and Temple Drive.

DPOS also prohibited the total closure of roads and required organizers to ensure that the surrounding area remains orderly and clean throughout the activity.

The department added that the rally should not disrupt security operations or unnecessarily impede the normal flow of traffic.

Officials warned that violations of the approved venue, schedule, or permit conditions could result in appropriate action under Batas Pambansa Blg. 880, also known as the Public Assembly Act.

With the expected turnout, authorities anticipate heavy traffic along White Plains Avenue and nearby portions of EDSA.

Motorists are advised to expect delays while traffic management measures are implemented during the event.

The Quezon City government said the permit was issued for a peaceful assembly under the conditions specified by local authorities.

Officials said they will continue monitoring the gathering to ensure compliance with the approved guidelines and to help maintain public order and traffic flow throughout the duration of the rally.
