A 49-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing a 26-year-old online seller inside her apartment in Barangay Madaum, Tagum City, Davao del Norte police said.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was captured during a follow-up operation inside an inn in Panabo City, also in Davao del Norte.
Authorities recovered a pistol believed to have been used in the crime, along with suspected shabu worth ₱360,000.
According to the Tagum City Police, the suspect is linked to the fatal shooting of Seanne Gellangarin, who was found dead with three gunshot wounds in her rented apartment.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument between the victim and a man shortly before the shooting. One neighbor claimed to have heard the words, “Why are you jealous? We’re not even in a relationship,” followed by three gunshots.
Investigators are looking into jealousy as a possible motive but have not disclosed the exact nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The investigation remains ongoing to determine further details about the case and ensure justice for Gellangarin.
