A barangay secretary was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside her room early Friday, June 27, in Barangay Tubod-Dugoan, Dumanjug, Cebu.
The victim, identified only as Celsa, 62, was a widow and served as the barangay secretary of Tubod-Dugoan. According to the Dumanjug Municipal Police Station, officers received a call about the incident around 4 a.m.
When authorities arrived at the scene in Purok 5, they found the victim lying face down inside her room with visible gunshot wounds on her body.
Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing or identify any suspects. An investigation is ongoing to find out who was behind the fatal shooting.
Officials have not released further details as they continue gathering evidence and interviewing possible witnesses.
