Truck plunges into ravine after crashing into store

A truck carrying live chickens crashed into a store and fell into a ravine in Sitio Bokyol, Barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City, Cebu, around 7 a.m. on Friday, January 31.

Three people were injured in the accident: a 12-year-old boy named Rey, the son of the store owner; the truck driver, Dionesio, 47; and Christopher, 31. All victims are residents of Aloguinsan.

According to the initial investigation by the Carcar City Police Station, the truck was headed toward San Fernando when its brakes allegedly failed. This caused the vehicle to slam into a roadside store before plunging into the ravine.

The Carcar City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) immediately transported the injured victims to the hospital for treatment.
