Four individuals were arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bicol in Purok 2, Barangay Maipon, Guinobatan, Albay, over the illegal sale of petroleum products.
Authorities identified the suspects as a 37-year-old businessman and owner of KPI Gasoline Station, a 54-year-old cashier, a 29-year-old pump attendant, and another 37-year-old pump attendant.
According to CIDG Bicol, the suspects are facing charges for violating Batas Pambansa Blg. 33, as amended by Presidential Decree 1865, which penalizes illegal distribution and sale of petroleum products.
The operation was conducted on March 18, 2026 in Barangay Maipon, Guinobatan, Albay, targeting illegal fuel distribution.
Confiscated during the operation were three portable micro fuel dispensers, a fuel tank, sales invoices, and marked buy-bust money. Authorities estimated the total value of the seized items and petroleum products at ₱2.32 million.
The suspects are currently under the custody of the CIDG Albay Provincial Field Unit for documentation and inquest proceedings.
CIDG Bicol conducted the operation in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Albay Police Provincial Office, Guinobatan Municipal Police Station, and the Department of Energy under “Operation OLEA.”
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operation demonstrates the police force’s commitment to preventing illegal activities that could harm communities and ensuring fair and secure fuel supply.
Authorities reminded fuel station operators to comply with existing laws and encouraged the public to report illegal activities to law enforcement agencies or through emergency hotlines.
