3 Filipino fishermen rescued by the US Navy in the South China Sea

Three Filipino fishermen were rescued by a US Navy logistics ship after drifting in the South China Sea.

The crew of the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Cesar Chavez found the distressed vessel at around 12:45 p.m. on January 1.

An inflatable boat was immediately launched to rescue the fishermen.

After being brought aboard the ship, the fishermen were examined and were found to be in good condition.

According to the fishermen, their boat experienced engine trouble, causing them to drift at sea.

Meanwhile, the United States has already coordinated with the Philippines to ensure the safe return of the three fishermen to the country.
