Fifteen personnel of the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO-XI) are facing dismissal after testing positive for illegal drug use, Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete announced.
According to Rosete, the personnel failed random drug tests conducted since last year. Their dismissal documents are currently being processed at his office.
The regional police chief stressed that this move is part of PRO-XI’s intensified campaign to cleanse its ranks of individuals involved in illegal drugs. He said the office remains firm in its commitment to professionalize its personnel and maintain public trust.
Station commanders linked to the drug-positive personnel will also be held accountable. They will no longer be recommended for future assignments due to command responsibility.
Authorities have yet to release the names of the involved personnel, pending the completion of administrative proceedings.
Rosete emphasized that PRO-XI will not tolerate any wrongdoing within its organization, highlighting the goal of building a drug-free police force.
The dismissal of the 15 personnel marks a critical step in PRO-XI’s internal reform initiatives amid ongoing efforts to tighten discipline and accountability among law enforcers.
Further investigations and actions are expected as part of the broader drive to strengthen public confidence in the region’s police force.
