According to customs authorities, the illegal substances were packed in improvised pouches made of carbon paper and packaging tape. The packages were further hidden alongside coffee powder, assorted coffee packs, and personal belongings in an apparent attempt to evade airport inspection.

The confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of ₱56,603,200.

The Bureau of Customs said the operation was conducted at the International Arrival Area in coordination with partner law enforcement agencies under the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
