VP Sara Duterte camp slams Ramil Madriaga as liar in perjury case

The camp of Vice President Sara Duterte has submitted its response to the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office addressing the counter-affidavit filed by Ramil Madriaga in connection with a perjury case.

Lawyer Salvador Paolo Panelo Jr., representing the vice president’s camp, said Madriaga failed to prove that the perjury allegations against him were false. He added that Madriaga’s latest submission only deepened the issue, citing what he described as additional false statements in the documents.

The Duterte camp also rejected Madriaga’s claims, labeling them as lies. It disputed the interpretation of photos presented as evidence of virtual meetings, saying these were taken from large online group meetings where Madriaga was only one of several participants.

Panelo said the materials presented by Madriaga do not support his assertions and instead raise further questions regarding the accuracy of his statements.

The camp is also reviewing the possibility of filing additional perjury charges against Madriaga based on the contents of his submitted affidavits.

The dispute stems from conflicting claims related to statements made under oath, which are now under evaluation by prosecutors.

As of now, the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office has yet to issue a ruling on the matter.

Both parties have submitted their respective documents, and the case remains under review as authorities determine whether sufficient grounds exist for further legal action.
