Tricycle driver nabbed in Davao drug bust, ₱1.3M shabu seized

A 28-year-old tricycle driver identified as Abdullah Maglasang Tanoga, was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at 8:35 PM on April 23, 2025, in Ecoland Subdivision, Brgy. 76-A Bucana, Davao City

Tanoga, a resident of the same barangay, was tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade. His arrest was carried out by personnel of Police Station 15 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) under Coordination No. 30004-042025-0524.

Authorities confiscated approximately 166 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱1,328,000. The operation yielded multiple pieces of evidence including six sachets and packs of the illegal substance, marked buy-bust money, proceeds, a .38 caliber pistol, live ammunition, and various personal items.

Seized items were:

  • Heat-sealed sachets and plastic packs containing suspected shabu
  • Marked money including genuine and printed bills
  • A firearm with live rounds
  • A driver’s license, mobile phone, sling bag, ignition key, and a tricycle

All items were properly marked and inventoried on-site in the presence of witnesses as required by law.

Tanoga remains in police custody and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
