Transport strike held yesterday generally peaceful — PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the transport strike held nationwide yesterday, organized by various transport groups, was generally peaceful.

According to PNP Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., no major incidents were recorded during the activities across different parts of the country.

Police personnel were deployed in key areas to ensure public safety, manage traffic, and assist commuters affected by the strike.

Nartatez said the PNP will continue to respect the right to peaceful assembly while maintaining public order.

He added that coordination with concerned agencies and local authorities remained ongoing to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure a prompt response if needed.

The agency also assured the public that it remains on alert and ready to respond to any situation as it continues to monitor the safety and security of everyone.
