Police arrested a man identified as the city’s third-ranked drug personality after finding a block of marijuana, shabu, and an improvised handgun during a dawn operation in Davao City on November 17.
The suspect, known as alias Ringgo, 37, is a resident of Barangay Tacunan in the Tugbok District. He was caught in a buy-bust operation conducted past 1 a.m. in Barangay Mintal, based on a report from the Tugbok Police Station.
Investigators said Ringgo sold a sachet of shabu valued at 13,600 pesos to an undercover officer. Police then recovered a block of marijuana worth 120,000 pesos, along with an improvised handgun and a single .9mm round. Officers noted that the seized items were found in the suspect’s possession at the time of his arrest.
Authorities said the operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to target high-value drug personalities in the area. The suspect was listed as the third most monitored individual at the city level.
Ringgo is now detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and Republic Act 10591, the law regulating firearms and ammunition.
Police said the case will be forwarded for inquest as they continue to build evidence related to the seized drugs and firearm. The investigation remains ongoing.
