Talisay woman stabbed dead by ex-partner in broad daylight

A 42-year-old woman died instantly after she was stabbed in the chest by her former partner in Sitio Quadra, Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, Cebu on the morning of October 25, 2025.

Police identified the victim as Joyryn Padinas, a resident of the area, while the suspect was named as Eric Lucendo Conlu, a native of Antipolo Jugan in Consolacion, Cebu.

According to initial reports, the Talisay City Police received a call about the incident around 10 a.m. Responding officers arrived to find the victim lying on the ground, bleeding heavily from a stab wound to her chest.

Witnesses told investigators that the victim and the suspect were seen arguing shortly before the attack. The confrontation escalated when Conlu allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Padinas in the chest, causing her to collapse. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police said the motive remains under investigation, but they have launched a hot pursuit operation to locate and arrest Conlu. Authorities also appealed to the public to report any information that could help in tracking down the suspect.
