Group Calls for Protest Following Acquittal of Enrile, Reyes, and Napoles

The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) has called for public protests following the acquittal of former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, his former chief of staff Gigi Reyes, and alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.

According to BAYAN, the acquittal reflects the persistence of corruption and lack of accountability in the country, allowing powerful politicians to steal from public funds without fear of consequence.
