The trust rating of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declined in the past month, dropping to negative territory, according to a survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The decline came amid public attention on issues involving alleged corruption in flood control projects. Based on the SWS survey conducted from Nov. 24 to 30, President Marcos recorded a net trust rating of negative 3 percent.
The results reflect a decrease in public confidence compared with the previous month. The survey period coincided with heightened discussion surrounding infrastructure projects and the use of public funds, particularly those related to flood control.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte posted a slight increase in her trust rating during the same survey period. For November 2025, Duterte obtained a trust rating of 31 percent, based on the SWS findings.
The release of the survey followed recent developments in a corruption case involving infrastructure projects. Last month, the Office of the Ombudsman filed its first malversation and graft charges before the Sandiganbayan against Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co and 16 other individuals.
The charges were connected to an alleged P289-million substandard road dike project in Oriental Mindoro. The case drew public attention as part of broader concerns over accountability in government-funded infrastructure projects, including flood control initiatives.
While the SWS survey did not directly attribute the changes in trust ratings to the case, the timing aligned with increased scrutiny over corruption allegations involving public works.
The latest SWS figures show shifting public sentiment toward the country’s top officials as corruption-related issues remain a key focus in national discussions.
