A parked SUV was hit by gunfire around midnight Aug. 26, 2026, along Labastida Street in Poblacion, Kidapawan City, with three bullet holes found on its glass.
The vehicle was parked in front of the business establishment of Ruel Anima and was reportedly owned by his brother-in-law, a teacher at a private school.
According to their account, they were awakened by successive gunshots. When they went outside several minutes later, they found the three bullet impacts, spent bullet casings and a package believed to contain shabu.
Police also learned that a chase reportedly occurred before the shooting between groups riding motorcycles described as “bora-bora.”
Authorities are looking into the possibility that the shooting may be connected to illegal drugs based on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The vehicle owner said they are confident they were not the intended targets and that their vehicle was only caught in the shooting.
The Kidapawan City Police are continuing their investigation to identify the suspects, determine the motive and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. VIA 97.5 BRIGADA NEWS FM KIDAPAWAN
