Six CTG members surrender in Eastern Visayas

Six members of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) surrendered to authorities in separate operations conducted across Eastern Visayas from April 24 to 26, 2026, according to a report from Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8).

Authorities said the series of surrenders began on April 24 when two individuals identified by their aliases “Jaime,” 46, from Eastern Samar, and “Marlon,” 41, from Leyte, turned themselves in to authorities.

During the surrender, the two individuals handed over one .38-caliber revolver, several rounds of ammunition, and one rifle grenade.

On April 25, another individual identified as alias “Ronnie,” 28, from Northern Samar, surrendered to authorities as part of the continuing operations.

The following day, April 26, three more individuals from Northern Samar and Eastern Samar surrendered. They were identified by their aliases “Jerry,” “Jose,” and “Ruel.”

Authorities reported that one of the individuals who surrendered on April 26 also turned over a rifle grenade during the surrender process.

All six individuals are currently under police custody for documentation and processing.

Officials said the individuals will undergo facilitation procedures under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which provides support measures for former members of insurgent groups who return to the government.

Police Regional Office 8 confirmed that the surrenders were carried out through separate operations conducted across different provinces in the Eastern Visayas region.
