Authorities have temporarily halted the search for the missing cockfighters in Taal Lake following recent volcanic activity over the weekend.
According to Justice spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez, operations were first suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions, which worsened after the minor eruptions of Taal Volcano.
He explained that the search was affected by poor water visibility in the area.
Despite the suspension, all operating units remain on standby and are prepared to resume search efforts once conditions improve.
The Taal Volcano recorded several minor eruptions on Sunday, lasting between one to four minutes.
