Public school teacher arrested in Agusan del Sur in drug buy-bust

A public school teacher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Loreto, Agusan del Sur, after authorities seized suspected shabu, police said.

The operation was carried out at about 8:01 a.m. Feb. 23, 2026, in Purok 5, Barangay Waloe, according to a press release from the Loreto Municipal Police Station.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Eph-Eph,” 34, married, a public school teacher and resident of Purok 2, Barangay Waloe. Authorities described the suspect as a street-level individual allegedly involved in illegal drug activity.

Seized during the operation was one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing about 0.40 gram, with an estimated value of ₱2,720 based on standard drug prices. Two additional sachets weighing a total of 0.80 gram, with an estimated value of ₱5,440, were also recovered.

Authorities also recovered a genuine ₱500 bill used as buy-bust money, a black wallet containing a personal ID and a black backpack.

Police said the total weight of the suspected shabu reached about 1.2 grams, with an estimated value of ₱8,160.

An inventory of the seized items was conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspect and witnesses. The suspect remains in police custody while proper disposition and charges are being prepared.
