The number of unemployed Filipinos increased in April.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the joblessness rate was recorded at 4.1%.
This translates to 2.06 million unemployed Filipinos.
The figure is higher than the 3.9% unemployment rate in March, which was equivalent to 1.93 million.
Meanwhile, underemployment, or those looking for extra income, work, or work hours, also increased. It was recorded at 14.6% in April, up from 13.4% in March.
The number of employed Filipinos for April 2025 reached 48.67 million which is slightly higher than the 48.35 million in April 2024.
