Caught on cam: man steals church speaker in Negros Occidental

A man was caught on CCTV stealing a Bluetooth speaker from a church convent in Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid, Negros Occidental on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 3.

The incident happened inside the Our Lady of Guadalupe – Roman Catholic Church, where the suspect was seen calmly walking through the convent hallway.

According to the CCTV footage, the man entered the convent through an open door. Moments later, he emerged carrying a portable Bluetooth speaker, which the church regularly uses during Mass.

The suspect quickly exited the premises, leaving church staff unaware until the theft was discovered.

Church authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to identifying the suspect or tracking down where the stolen speaker may have been sold.

Local police are continuing their investigation to establish the identity of the man seen in the video.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the suspect acted alone or had knowledge of the convent’s schedule and layout. The church has increased its security protocols following the incident.
