Prices of some groceries for Christmas expected to go down

The prices of holiday staples such as ham and queso de bola may drop this year.

This is based on the price guide released by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ahead of the upcoming holiday season.

Out of 256 items on the list, 129 retained the same prices as last year, while 95 showed slight increases.

For queso de bola, prices range from ₱210 to ₱215 per 350 grams; ham from ₱170 to ₱224 per 500 grams; fruit cocktail at ₱61.76 to ₱69 per 432 grams; and spaghetti sauce at ₱102.50 per 900 grams.

The DTI reminds consumers to carefully inspect products when shopping.

Buyers are urged to check labels and examine product quality.
