Pimentel: Duterte’s ‘kill joke’ may signal personality disorder

Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel has raised concerns about former President Rodrigo Duterte’s mental health following his controversial “kill” remarks about senators.

Pimentel suggested that an individual’s obsession with death and violence could indicate a serious personality disorder. His comments came after Duterte joked about killing 15 senators during a PDP-Laban rally in San Juan City.

The senator noted that such remarks might be a sign of an underlying mental health issue. However, he emphasized that it is up to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to determine whether Duterte’s statements violated any laws.

Pimentel suggested that if no crime was committed, further discussions on the issue should be put to rest.

As debates continue over Duterte’s remarks, the DOJ has yet to issue a formal ruling on the complaints filed against the former president.
