PBBM Urges World Leaders to Address Gender Gap to Strengthen Global Economy

President Bongbong Marcos emphasized to Asia-Pacific leaders that true connectivity and resilience begin with improving the lives of people, especially the youth.

During the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, the President said that closing the gender gap is not just about fairness—it is “smart economics.”

He noted that encouraging more women to participate in the economy could add up to USD 28 trillion to the global gross domestic product (GDP).

Because of this, President Marcos urged other leaders to take action to address gender pay gaps and allow women to fully contribute to the workforce.

In the end, he stressed that empowering women and MSMEs will unlock the full potential of the private sector while ensuring inclusivity.
