Palace says no security threats against President Marcos

Malacañang clarified that there are no direct security threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in connection with his decision to skip the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) this year.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the National Security Council (NSC), led by Assistant Director General Cornelio Valencia, found no new threats to the President. The only matter previously noted was a past statement made by Vice President Sara Duterte.

Questions arose after Marcos announced he would not attend the UNGA. Observers speculated that the move was linked to possible risks to his safety. The Palace dismissed such claims and said the decision was made to allow the President to focus on domestic concerns.
