KORONADAL CITY- NAKATANGGAP ng P 24 million na halaga ng farm machinery ang lalawigan ng South Cotabato sa ilalim ng Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund o RCEF- Mechanization Component ng Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech).
Makikinabang dito ang 2,582 na mga magsasaka na miyembro ng 21 mga Farmers’ Cooperative and Associations o FCA sa 11 mga local government units sa lalawigan.
Kabilang sa 133 na mga makinarya na ipinamahagi sa mga ito ang four wheel tractors and floating tillers para sa land preparation; precision seeder, walk-behind transplanters, and riding-type transplanters para sa crop establishments; rice reaper and combine harvester for harvesting units, axial flow at thresher; mobile rice mill at marami pang iba.
Inihayag ni Engr. Rey Adarna, Mindanao B Cluster Head ng PHilMech na makatutulong ang naturang mga farm machinery upang mapababa ang production cost ng mga farmers, madagdagan ang kanilang kita at mapabilis ang farm operations kumpara sa manual labor.
