P20M worth of shabu seized from businesswoman in Cebu

Authorities seized over P20 million worth of suspected shabu from a female businesswoman during a buy-bust operation on Saturday afternoon, July 5, in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, Cebu.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 7 (PDEA-7), along with the Talisay City Police and other law enforcement units, launched the operation at around 2 p.m., targeting the suspect identified only as “Ann,” a 36-year-old woman.

Recovered from the suspect were three kilograms of suspected shabu, with a standard drug value of ₱20,400,000.

According to authorities, the woman was allegedly distributing around three kilograms of illegal drugs per week in the tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu.

The operation was a result of a coordinated effort among anti-drug agencies, responding to intelligence reports on the suspect’s illegal activities.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspect’s network and possible connections to larger drug syndicates.

Authorities have not released additional details on whether the suspect will face formal charges immediately or if more arrests are expected.
