Overseas voter registration in the Middle East continues amid tensions

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) confirmed that voter registration activities are continuing at Philippine embassies and consulates in the Middle East despite ongoing tensions in the region.

In its announcement, Comelec said that Philippine Foreign Posts remain open and operational for consular services, including voter registration.

At the same time, the agency urged Filipinos in the Middle East to remain alert and stay updated on developments in their respective areas.

They were also advised to be vigilant against misinformation and disinformation, and to rely only on credible sources of information.

Comelec further encouraged overseas Filipinos to heed advisories from the Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as from their respective embassies or consulates, and to coordinate with them when necessary.
