Over 5,000 new lawyers pass 2025 Bar Exams

More than 5,000 aspiring lawyers have officially passed the 2025 Bar Exams in the Philippines.

This afternoon, Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier, Chairperson of the 2025 Bar Exams, announced that 5,594 examinees passed out of 11,425 who took the exams.

This represents a 48.98% passing rate, a significant increase from last year’s 37.84%, when only 3,962 passed.

The passing grade remained at 75% for this year’s exams.

UP’s Sanchez tops 2025 Bar Exams; New attorneys join nation’s legal ranks

Topping the list is Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, who scored 92.70%.

He is followed closely by Spinel Albert Allauigan Declaro of the University of Santo Tomas-Manila with 92.46%.

Also making the top five are Alaiza Agatep Adviento of UST-Manila with 91.91%, Angelica de Castro Mitra of De La Salle-Lipa at 91.8%, and Marc Angelo Galvez Santos of UST-Manila at 91.58%.

The oath-taking ceremony for the new lawyers is scheduled for February 6, 2025, at the Philippine Arena.
