A public school in Lebak is strictly enforcing its policy against the use of motorcycles with open pipes or “bura-bura” exhausts to maintain peace and order within the school premises.
According to Ben Olojado, the officer in charge of Purikay National Highschool, regular inspections are being conducted to ensure that no students are able to enter the campus using motorcycles with loud or modified exhaust systems. So far, no violations have been officially recorded.
Prior to the Christmas break, students were clearly reminded that the use of open-pipe motorcycles is strictly prohibited. This policy is also in line with existing police regulations banning noisy and modified exhaust systems.
School authorities emphasized that any student found using a motorcycle with an open pipe will not be allowed to enter the school premises.
However, reports surfaced last week regarding a student allegedly using an open-pipe motorcycle. The incident is still under investigation, as there is a possibility that the exhaust system is being temporarily changed when entering the school.
Meanwhile, Emilio Caspillo, Barangay Chairman of Purikay, said the barangay will further strengthen the enforcement of the ordinance against open-pipe motorcycles to ensure a peaceful and orderly community.
