The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) considers Sen. Robin Padilla a key personality who may provide information regarding the whereabouts of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag said Padilla was the last person seen with dela Rosa before the senator reportedly left the Senate building early Thursday morning.
According to Matibag, dela Rosa exited the Senate premises at around 2:30 a.m., several hours after the shooting incident that occurred Wednesday night.
Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano also confirmed that based on reports from the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, dela Rosa and Padilla left the Senate together.
Matibag said Padilla is being treated as a “person of interest” in the matter because he may help authorities determine dela Rosa’s location.
The NBI clarified that Padilla is considered a key personality due to the information he may possess regarding the senator’s movements after the incident.
Meanwhile, the NBI is now coordinating with the Department of Justice regarding the next legal steps connected to the case involving dela Rosa.
Authorities have yet to disclose further details about dela Rosa’s current location or possible actions that may follow the ongoing investigation.
