Murder case filed against man returning barangay captain Bucol’s wallet

Authorities have charged a man with murder after he returned the wallet and identification of slain Barangay Captain Oscar Bucol Jr.

Police Regional Office 11 identified the suspect as one of several Persons of Interest connected to Bucol’s fatal shooting investigation.

PRO-11 Regional Director PBGen. Leon Victor Rosete confirmed that the Bucol family filed the murder complaint on February 27, 2026.

Investigators are actively examining evidence to identify and track other individuals who orchestrated or participated in the deadly attack against Bucol.
