Jessica Lane from Australia was named Miss Earth 2024 during the coronation night in Parañaque, Philippines, on Saturday. Lane stood out among 76 contestants to take home the crown, marking her as a global environmental advocacy champion.
The event, held over three hours, concluded with Lane triumphing over candidates from around the world, a recognition of her beauty, poise, and commitment to environmental causes. Lane’s victory was celebrated by a dazzling audience, setting a high bar for future Miss Earth hopefuls.
Elemental Court Honors and Philippine Miss’s Attempt
Joining Lane in the elemental court were Hrafnhildur Haraldsdóttir from Iceland, who earned the Miss Earth-Air title; Bea Millan-Windorski from the United States, crowned Miss Earth-Water; and Niva Antezana from Peru, who received the Miss Earth-Fire title. These representatives were acknowledged for their unique contributions and dedication to the Miss Earth cause.
Meanwhile, the Philippines’ representative, Irha Mel Alfeche, fell short of reaching the Top 8, ending her journey in the Top 12. Alfeche aimed to secure the fifth Miss Earth title for the Philippines, following previous winners Karen Ibasco (2017), Angelia Ong (2015), Jamie Herrell (2014), and Karla Henry (2008). Last year, the Philippines’ representative, Yllana Aduana, was named Miss Earth-Air, the first runner-up position.
Miss Earth 2024: Full Placement Highlights
The competition’s Top 8 featured contestants from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cabo Verde, and Russia. Additionally, the Top 12 included candidates from Nigeria, Mauritius, and the Philippines. The USA was among the few nations to achieve both a Top 12 placement and an elemental court title.
The Top 20, recognized for their strong performances, included representatives from Wales, Korea, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Thailand, New Zealand, Cuba, and Poland. Notably, Poland’s representative was crowned Miss People’s Choice.
Hosted by Kapamilya star Robi Domingo, the event brought a night of glamour, talent, and advocacy, showcasing the dedication of women from across the globe to environmental causes.
