Mark Salanga of Aksyon Radyo has been elected as the 89th president of the Negros Press Club (NPC) during the General Assembly and Election of Officers held on Saturday, January 18, at the NPC office in Bacolod City.
Salanga secured 91 votes, defeating Eric Tenerife of K5 News FM, who earned 51 votes. The election became a two-way race after incumbent NPC President Erwin Delilan declined to seek another term, despite being nominated for re-election.
Prime Tejida of RMN was elected vice president, while other officers include Lourd John Diaz as secretary, Nona Magbanua of Aksyon Radyo as treasurer, and James Toga as auditor.
Meanwhile, the newly elected board of directors consists of Eden Aboso of Aksyon Radyo, Merlinda Pedrosa of SunStar, Nico Delfin of Digicast, and Maureen Soliguen of FMR.
The new officers will officially assume their roles on March 1, 2025.
