Japan is set to assist in addressing the situation at the Navotas Sanitary Landfill following the massive fire that recently broke out in the area.

A team of Japanese disaster relief (JDR) experts, composed of seven members, arrived in Manila yesterday.

According to the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, the group will assess the incident and provide technical advice on firefighting operations, air pollution measurement and assessment, as well as waste management.
