Impeachment is the only outcome seen by House Assistant Majority Leader Jude Acidre in the ongoing investigation of the House of Representatives into the use of confidential funds by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
According to Acidre, filing an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte is a logical and proper outcome.
He noted that months were spent investigating the alleged irregularities in the OVP and DepEd during Duterte’s term as secretary.
Acidre emphasized that this is the kind of accountability that should follow the revelations uncovered by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
Because of this, the congressman welcomes the possibility of filing the fourth impeachment complaint against the Vice President, which is reportedly set to happen next week.
Previously, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that some individuals had approached their office to request an extension before referring the three impeachment complaints to Speaker Martin Romualdez.
