Graduating student dies after motorcycle slams into wall

A 23-year-old graduating criminology student died after his motorcycle crashed into a wall early Sunday morning, April 27, in Barangay 3, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

The victim, identified only as Alias Norman from Barangay Guisijan, Laua-an, Antique, was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital due to multiple injuries sustained during the incident.

According to Police Lieutenant Cheryl Sapinosa, Deputy Chief of Police of the San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Police Station, Norman was allegedly under the influence of alcohol after attending a birthday party. The crash occurred around 3:00 a.m. while he was reportedly heading back to his boarding house in Barangay 8.

Sapinosa added that Norman was not wearing a standard helmet at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities continue to remind motorists to observe road safety, avoid drunk driving, and wear proper protective gear to prevent similar incidents.
