The Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 Women’s team has secured a return to the FIBA 3×3 World Cup after eight years, following a strong qualifying run in Singapore on April 12, 2026.
The Philippine squad clinched the final qualification spot after defeating host nation Singapore, 21-10, in a decisive playoff match that sealed their World Cup berth. Despite falling to Lithuania, 21-16, in the semifinals, the team showed resilience and quickly regrouped for the crucial bronze qualification game.
Kacey Dela Rosa led the charge for Gilas Pilipinas with an impressive 11-point performance, while Afril Bernardino and Mikka Cacho contributed six and four points, respectively, to overpower Singapore.
The team opened their campaign with a narrow 16-13 loss to Brazil but bounced back strongly by edging Singapore, 21-19, in their first meeting during the qualifiers. Their consistent performance throughout the knockout phase proved vital in securing advancement.
With this qualification, the squad marks the Philippines’ return to the world stage of women’s 3×3 basketball for the first time since 2018, when the country finished seventh overall.
