Fuel prices in the Philippines are expected to rise again next week, continuing a streak of weekly “mega” increases that have pushed costs to critical levels.
Oil industry sources estimate that both diesel and gasoline will likely post double-digit increases after four days of trading.
Diesel prices may increase by around ₱14.00 to ₱16.00 per liter, while gasoline could rise by ₱10.50 to ₱12.50 per liter.
If these projections hold, diesel prices could reach approximately ₱130 per liter, while gasoline may exceed ₱100 per liter.
Kerosene is also expected to see a significant hike, with possible increases ranging from ₱17.60 to ₱19.60 per liter.
However, there is still one remaining trading day, meaning the final adjustments could either decrease or increase depending on market movements.
Final estimates will be released on Saturday, while official price adjustments will be announced on Monday.
In the past two weeks, fuel price hikes were implemented on a staggered basis due to the large increases, spreading the adjustments over several days.
For the coming week, the implementation scheme will depend on discussions between the Department of Energy (DOE) and oil companies.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether staggered increases will continue or if full adjustments will be applied at once.
