Filipina files acts of lasciviousness complaint vs Russian Embassy staff

A Filipina has filed an acts of lasciviousness complaint against a Russian staff member of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Philippines.

In the complaint filed before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office, the woman alleged that while waiting for an elevator at a condominium on June 5, the respondent suddenly touched her from behind without her consent.

She said the incident lasted for about three seconds.

According to the complainant, the Russian national’s actions were “unsolicited,” “offensive,” and “inappropriate.”

She added that when she turned around to see who had touched her, she froze in fear and shock.

The two later boarded the same elevator, where the complainant said she tried to distance herself from the man.

While inside the elevator, she alleged that the respondent approached her, attempted to hold her hand, and tried to kiss her.

She said she was unable to leave immediately because she felt cornered, but eventually managed to get out of the elevator.

The complainant also claimed that she smelled alcohol on the respondent’s breath.

The Russian Embassy has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

The woman further said that the respondent had proposed several options to settle the issue, including an apology, the staff member’s removal from the condominium, and monetary compensation, but she did not accept any of them.
