Families retrieve remains recovered from the sunken M/V Trisha Kerstin 3

Relatives have retrieved nine of the 11 bodies recovered during the ongoing search and rescue operations for the sunken M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 in Basilan.

According to the Basilan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), four sets of remains have been transported to Sulu, while five were brought to various locations, with coordination assistance from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Two sets of remains have yet to be claimed by their families.

Meanwhile, the PCG extended its condolences to all the bereaved families.

It was earlier reported that the death toll from the incident rose to 29 after 11 bodies were recovered during the continuing search operations.
